My jazzy art print "Live in the Moment" was featured Sunday on Etsy's website in a feature called "Etsy Finds." It was exciting to see so much more traffic to my Etsy shop as a result and a real bump in sales too. Click here to check it out.

Welcome to our home. Take a look around. The house was built in 1980 and is a fairly open floor plan on three levels. This is the main floor which has the foyer, living, dining, bathroom and kitchen. We removed a lot of carpet and some very dark and dated terra cotta floor tiles and replaced them with travertine (including on all of the stairs) and added wood floors in the living and dining rooms. We opted for a color palette of orange and gray with accents of brown and teal. It is always a work in progress and just last week we found a milkglass orange lamp from Pottery Barn on clearance! Lucky day since we had been looking for one for some time. I also framed two of my prints from my Etsy shop, Pictorialboom and hung them in the dining room. We built the wooden stairway railing ourselves because the existing one was pretty hideous and part of it was removed before we moved in and nowhere to be found. I know orange is not a color for everyone, but it is both warm and cozy as well as energizing and inspiring. I hope you enjoyed the tour.

We get nearly all of our rain here in Southern California during the winter months and lately it has been very wet indeed. Most of the weekend, however, was dry (but a bit overcast) so we took the dogs for a nice hike Sunday up Cowles Mountain on the eastern edge of the city. It is near San Diego State University for those of you who are familiar with the area. The hike was fun and there were quite a few people hiking with their families and their dogs. Some brave ones even do it on mountain bikes or unicycles. It's not a long hike but it does climb up the 1600 feet fairly quickly. We are always looking for good hikes to do in the city and we will definitely be hiking Cowles Mountain again.

The end of the workweek is here and perhaps a drink is in your near future. I don't really drink martinis, but I've always admired the shape of the martini glass and I do like olives. Whatever concoction you enjoy, here's to you! To buy this art print, go to www.pictorialboom.etsy.com

It rained here most of the weekend, so it seems appropriate to post some aquatic images. I designed these kitchen and bath collections last year with the beloved and yet mysterious seahorse as the centerpiece. Such an unusual creature.

I have been experimenting with silhouette imagery off and on for a while now and this is a new piece in that quest for my own "take" on it. The quest is never ending, but it's a fun journey.

I just found out that my brother lost his beautiful little dog, Truman over the weekend. He was everything that anyone would want in a little canine friend and he will be missed by all of us who knew him. Please honor Truman's life by doing something special for your pet today. Truman would have wanted that.

February has just begun and I know you've already been subjected to excessive imagery for V-day... so sorry, but........ here is some more from a dinnerware project I did last year! You don't want to go through life with white plates ALL the time, do you? Now go find something lovely to eat off of...
