Sunday Hike

We get nearly all of our rain here in Southern California during the winter months and lately it has been very wet indeed.  Most of the weekend, however, was dry (but a bit overcast) so we took the dogs for a nice hike Sunday up Cowles Mountain on the eastern edge of the city.  It is near San Diego State University for those of you who are familiar with the area.  The hike was fun and there were quite a few people hiking with their families and their dogs.  Some brave ones even do it on mountain bikes or unicycles.  It's not a long hike but it does climb up the 1600 feet fairly quickly.  We are always looking for good hikes to do in the city and we will definitely be hiking Cowles Mountain again.

  1. It's great to see Ruby and Olive out for a walk on Sunday afternoon! They look so happy. Of course, the scenic views of the area are always a delight! Glad you could get out and enjoy the day! It's great to see the green there too!

  2. Dogs always look so happy and alive when they're "on the trail!" Did Olive drag her feet when it was time to leave? I'm sure she wanted to stay longer, even if she was worn out. Looks like a beautiful place--thanks for the scenery. It's good to see some green on a landscape!
