Cosmos in a vase

I bought these flowers at a market in San Diego and decided to paint them. It ended up being one of the last illustrations I did there. I love the casual and unstructured feeling of the arrangement. I ended up cropping the painting four different ways to present it to a greeting card client of mine. As you have probably noticed, I also decided to use it as my blog banner.

  1. Beautiful! Neat how it looks different in every crop. I really like it as the blogger header.

How goes the house search?! I hope your move went smoothly. It must be fun to explore a whole new city and take your time finding a home - it looks gorgeous!

  3. Those are great, Steve! I love the warmth, of course, with that beautiful background, but also love the natural arrangement of the flowers, as if they're still growing in a little English garden! It's great to see the different styles you employ as a painter--it's like you speak several languages!
